Conservation Tip: Keep a container by your sink and pour any old water that goes unused into it (drinking water not used, old bottled water, etc) and use that to water your plants. Also, place it under the faucet while you wait for your water to get hot so all that water doesn’t go to waste.

This is the compost in our van…

We lay the compost in a worm shape on a tarp in the yard and soak it down completely…then wrap in the tarp for 3-4 weeks and let it cook…

This is the compost after about 3 weeks. You can see it has significantly broken down…

The compost is now only dirt, really black and ready for plants. This was after about 6-7 weeks of turning and wetting down the pile almost daily and monitoring its inner temperature…PICS OF THE FINISHED PRODUCT TO FOLLOW…

We planted the onions in late February, 2013…

This is what they looked like after about 2-3 weeks…

This is the onions at 5-6 weeks…at this stage you can start to trim the scallion (long green part) part of the onion to mix in with food you’re cooking…we had them on everything

Onions after 9-10 weeks…they are nearing completion at almost the size of a baseball…plenty of scallions to cut off too…

This week’s song of the week goes to NovaKord, off of their new release ‘Out There’, which is amazing to say the least.. the combination of musicianship, talent, creativity and soul is the perfect balance for this album.. There are many unique sounds in their array, and the songs are catchy as well..

This song, ‘Walk Fast’, sounds almost like a soldier’s march, a tune for freedom fighters.. the drumming is tight, the vocals are perfect, and the bass is jammin’… Hats off to these guys for putting out such a great album…
