Merkava – Interview, new music and more…

Merkava is a tremendous and entrancing creature that knows no bounds. The sound is very raw but smooth and they do an amazing job on stage switching from instrument to instrument to keep the base multifaceted. They are currently in the studio recording their first full length album and based on what they have presented so far, it is sure to be brilliant.  They are quickly progressing and improving and I think they have big things in store for fans. Here is a brand new song from the upcoming album…some awesome music…?

Merkava is Joey Jackson – Bass, Korg; Ben Jones – Drums, Synth; Matt Pethel – Guitar, Drums; Sam Jones – Guitar, Organ, Drums. Matt had this to say about the new album….”This new album, we have spent much more time writing and composing and we feel a deeper connection to all of these songs.” They are about 75% done and the album is going to be about an hour of experimental and soulful tribal inspired rock and roll. We plan to be finished tracking in a month or so, and we will probably mix/master for another couple of weeks after that. I’m thinking it will be completely finished by mid-May/early-June. Once the album is finished they will be playing a number of shows in and around town to promote the new music. I would definitely make it out to a show.
