Each book recommended in our book club was either read or a long form interview with the author was heard or read. In this case I heard a 1 hour discussion with the author Majid M. Padellan (Brooklyn Dad Defiant) on the ‘Tell Me Everything’ with John Fugelsang show on Sirius XM Progress (where I hear many great interviews and discussions on political, social and comedy topics – I highly recommend the show if you have Sirius XM. It airs on the progress channel at 9pm everyday and is available on demand the next day).
My copy is in the mail so I have not yet read this but I did hear the author discuss the book and other commentary on today’s political climate and who I call President Cartman in the white house. It sounds like the book will be quite funny and I know it will get under Pres Cartman’s skin if he is to come across it…so there is that satisfaction as well. You can read more about and from Brooklyn Dad Defiant at his website here.
Here is the summary provided on that website and Amazon: “Spanky McDumbass was a horrible Liddle’ man who was a draft-dodger, a creepy dad, a businessman, and a bad TV celebrity, who lied and cheated his way to the most powerful position in America: President of the United States. This is the story of his improbable rise, and his ultimate bigly fall.”
Tell me Everything with John Fugelsang, the show on which I heard Brooklyn Dad Defiant, features a panel of comedians every day for the last hour of the show to discuss politics, the social commentary of the day and of course make jokes. I found Brooklyn Dad Defiant to be one of the more intelligent and thoughtful comedians to be included on the panel in a while. He offered well thought out opinions and facts and spoke with confidence and proficiency on the topics at hand. Purchase the book at the same website above here.
