Alessia Caracciolo AKA Alessia Cara is an up and coming Canadian born and raised singer and songwriter. At the age of 19 (born July 11, 1996) Alessia is currently signed to EP Entertainment and Def Jam Recordings. Alessia Cara is best known for her single “Here” (listen below), from her debut album, “Know-It-All”, released November 13, 2015. This song has already reached the top 10 in the United States and the top 20 in Canada. She is also performing at Coachella 2016.

Alessia Cara is a great example of how Youtube is a great outlet for fame. Alessia was noticed for her acoustic stream on Youtube prior to getting signed to EP Entertainment and Def Jam Recordings.

What I really enjoyed as I was listening to this album was the independently/ personally made videos for each song on the album by Allessia Cara herself. One if the songs, “I’m yours” was made using a selfie stick. This take on Alessia’s visuals brought a very organic feel to Alessia Cara as an artist.

Although “Here” is the single Alessia is most know for, I recommend checking out “Outlaws.” I love the tangy blues sound with a modern twist. See the official video of “Outlaws”…as well as a video of “Here” being played this past New Year’s Eve.
