Spot Beneath The Earth is the new EP from the band Atlanta band Fairlanes. Riddles with punk pop rock influences the album is a great start to a band that has all the right things going for it. They just got off a tour from around the Southeast and we got to ask them a few questions about the band and tour.

B: Who is in the band and who plays what?
Kris Hatch plays bass, Luke plays guitar and so does James, Cody plays drums and Blake sings.
B: You guys just got off a tour from Tampa to Jacksonville. How was the tour? Any good stories?
When you put it like that it sounds like we toured for like one day across Northern Florida haha! But no, it was great. We toured for two weeks with Florida’s Prayer Chain and it was a wild time for sure. As far as wild stories go (I’m not sure how PG your site is) lets just say there was lots of nudity, vomiting, and shenanigans.. And some music too.
B: Where did you record the album, can you talk about the process/struggles/fun?
Well we recorded the album at Led Belly Sound Studio which was formerly in Atlanta but is now located in the mountains. We worked all summer writing it, we’d get together at like midnight and write until 4am or something multiple nights a week. The EP is a reflection of the state of our minds on any given summer night in Atlanta. In reference to struggles and fun, well, writing music with your best friends is fun.. Most aspects of life outside of that could fall under “Struggle”.
B: Describe yourself as a band.
The most accurate way to describe our band as a sound would be to listen to our album. Our influences are very broad and cover a wide spectrum of genres, but most fall under the punk/alternative/DIY umbrella in one way or another. There are a lot of different flavors on “Spot Beneath The Earth” but I think a unifying mindset between the members is what makes us sound the way we do. We all feel very strongly about remaining true to ourselves , thinking independently, and creating something as honest as we can without compromise. B: What happened to flight to Malaysian flight 370?
I have no idea what happened to that plane, I don’t have tv or a computer so I’ll just take a shot in the dark and say everyone on board got abducted.. Because that would be sweet.
