Hey BeAtlanta family and music lovers! Here’s a local band, The Head, that has an awesome new-age funky 80’s sound that you can’t help but enjoy. And what about the cover to their newest Album “Millipedes” !
I had a chance to get to know the band a little better. Here are some questions I know we all want to know the answers too…
B: Who is The Head? What’s behind the name?
The Head consists of twin brothers Mike (lead singer/ bass) and Jack Shaw (drums) and their best friend Jacob Morrell (guitar).
B: How did Jacob, Jack and Mike meet?
Mike and Jack met Jacob during their freshman year of high school.
B: What inspired the new album “Millipedes”?
A lot of stuff inspired “Millipedes,” including David Lynch, Scott Walker, and the fact that our teenage years are behind us. We also spent a weekend locked up in a cabin in the Blue Ridge Mountains which produced some of the ideas for Millipedes.
B: How would you describe The Head’s sound/genre?
We’ve heard some people describe it as indie/rock, while others say it has a touch of new wave. We would just describe it as honest. Whatever that sounds to listeners is up to them.
B: What’s next in for 2016 for The Head?
We’ll be releasing a new LP as well as going on a 120+ date tour.
