The questions were both answered by Meghann Wright and the bass player in her band Eva Lawitts, while on a day off on tour in Memphis, Tennessee.

B: Who is Meghann Wright?
MW: A woman who loves to create art, collaborate on new projects, and help others.
EL: I was born Meghann Wright and I will die Meghann Wright. Meghann Wright is on tour. Or should I say, on tour-de-force! I am someone who has the answers to your pitiless questions. NEXT!
B: Your most recent music video “Vacancy” has new age take on the western look. What was the inspiration for this song and video?
MW: I’m using the idea of an old run down motel (in this case a brothel) as a metaphor for myself.
EL: The river is a metaphor for aligning your chakras and shocking the sheriff with your quick-draw!
B: How would you describe the genre of music that you create?
MW: I grew up on rock, pop, jazz, classical, punk, hardcore and metal. I really just want to make passionate and artful music that anyone can relate to with its roots in Americana. I call it Sad Bastard Music.
EL: I need help. It’s cold in this house. I ain’t goin’ out to chop wood. Sorry, what was the question? I was thinking about my chakras. Oh yeah. Genre. Is hardcore monogamy a genre?
B: I really enjoyed listening to “Left My Heart in Brooklyn”. Are you leaving the city or a special someone?
MW: It was originally from the perspective of someone else who travels for a living, but now it applies to me more than it used to. Everyone misses home, whether it be a place or a person.
EL: This is a song about both, you ape. I’m leaving a person and they are in a place. Two types of nouns, can you understand that you plebeian speck of human garbage?
B: Do you have any new projects coming out this year?
MW: I am organizing submissions for the third The City & The Heart compilation album featuring indie female artists based in New York. All proceeds from sales go to SafeHorizon.org benefiting victims of domestic violence. You can read more about it

EL: Ima push out a baby, I think thank ya thank ya.
B: What are the big milestones that you hope to accomplish in 2016?
MW: I’d like to write a new album with my band: Sonny Ratcliff, Andrew Nesbitt and Eva Lawitts.
EL: Finally aligning my chakras.
B: What shows do you have coming up?
MW: Currently touring the nation: BandsInTown.com/MeghannWright
EL: “Talent show, dog show, gun show, road show, all of the shows, all of the shows” – Kanye West
