Wow, what an awesome album. It runs the gamut in a genre bending onslaught of funky southern rock, eclectic heavy instrumental breakdowns and post punk screams that leave a listener eager for more after each track. All this with lead singer Austin Adkins’ awesome and wide ranging voice and clever lyrical arrangements. Some album highlights for me:
The heavily instrumental opener “Cactus Practice.”
The dark and ominous “He Who Has Horns.”
The Southern funk rock “Jinx Blues.”
Post Punk angst with “A.D.D.”
