Why Beer, on beatlanta?

Well, because beer is awesome. And like other awesome things it is a craft, an art and a creativity filled with endless amounts of options and a vast number of pioneers and trail blazers. My interest and love for beer started about 3 years ago. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve drank beer since I was a teenager like most Americans, but I didn’t really care or have much interest in the craft. I stuck mostly to popular commercial brands like Icehouse and Miller and Coors Light. After moving to Atlanta 10 years ago I quickly became a PBR guy (and always will be) but it was about 2 years ago that my taste buds exploded and I realized I wanted to be a beer enthusiast, or even better, a connoisseur. Almost over night it seemed like my thirst for different types of beer was unquenchable and it remains that way today.

David (from beatlanta) and I used to (and still do) always go to Midway in East Atlanta Village 1-2 times a week or when we could to try their vast selection of craft beers. We would always share and compare beers and that is how we got started. And then, about a year ago, we got tuned into the craft beer store and growler movement (we were late comers, we know) and now here we are.

Beatlanta wants to bring you knowledgeable opinions and reviews of craft beers from around the world. We will let you know what we think, what you might enjoy and also let you know where to buy locally so you can go pick it up yourself.
