Krog Jam is a fairly new venue to Atlanta, but is easily one of the finer venues when it comes to vibe. The feeling you get when going there is one of easy-going, laid back and mellowed out times. A natural respect for the bands is common, which allows the bands to reflect back onto the listeners. In a time of turmoil, a place like Krog Jam is just what we need to grow our roots stronger and healthier, musically and spiritually. They also somehow have a 20 foot tall quarter pipe. Check their myspace site at http://www.myspace.com/krogjam for upcoming shows, pics and more general information.
I went out this night to see my friend Frank’s supergroup, Love Dumpster, composed of members across the southeast, from Tennesee to Chicago and of course Atlanta.
The first band to go on was a surprise hit to me, a band I’d never heard of nor could find on myspace, that goes by the name of Wowzer Bowzer. They were amazing. They even had a clown dancing on the stage. The energy was very emotional and the songs were put together precisely.
Next was afore mentioned band, Love Dumpster, found HERE on myspace; a rap/rock/country/experimental group with literally an all-star lineup composed of Tim, a funky slap bassist, Jake the hard step drummer, Angelo the rapper and Frank playing all kinds of instruments but mainly guitar.
Finally to go on was Invisible Circus, local jam rockers who always bring their best game with them. HERE on myspace. Check out the videos below and please, please give these bands your support because they truly deserve it and it definitely does count!
