First Taste: this beer was much like the last IPA I reviewed (Boulevard Mid-Coast), but a bit better, in that it was creamier than I expected for an IPA. I think that may be the biscuity flavor that is boasted by the brewers. It smells great with a slight sweetness that you taste right away. I didn’t really notice the spice much until my 4th or 5th taste. I’m not sure what that means yet. Some tastes seem spicier than others but as I type this I can feel the spice in the back of my throat as an after taste…and a good one. It kind of lingers so that may be why I didn’t notice it right away. It built up so that each taste is a bit spicier than the last. This is a collaboration in limited release so go get it now if you want to try it. The info on the collaboration is here: http://lagunitas.com/fusion-18-an-uber-hoppy-imperial-oatwine/
Season: Good all around, that spiciness will keep you warm in the winter.
