First Taste: The first taste was awesome; made me smile. This beer is aged in cocoa nibs and fresh raspberries and just as the brewery intended gives you a swirl of dark (chocolates, malts, a tiny bit of coffee, astringent) and that lingering sweetness (candy, dark fruits). It pours almost black with no head. It comes in a bit heavy at 9.6% but it sits light. It does leave a bit of residue aftertaste but its slightly sweet and not overbearing.
Season: Winter but year round
Food/Dessert: Pie, desserts
Scale: 8
