press release: The 7th Annual Laughing Skull Comedy Festival returns to Atlanta, presenting 101 of America’s most promising comedians June 7th-12th.
 
The Laughing Skull Comedy Festival is six days of non-stop comedy, taking place in a variety of venues across Atlanta. Although the festival fields over 500 applicants, only the top 101 performers are invited to compete in front of live audiences and industry judges.
 
“I’ve done other festivals,” says comedian Danny Palmer, “but never has every show been packed to the brim with smart, great audiences until this one.”
 
Through a point system, each comedian gets judged on timing, material, stage presence, and audience response. The comedians with the highest scores advance on to the next round. The winner of the festival takes home a grand prize of $1000 and a record and distribution deal from Uproar Records, in addition to priceless exposure to TV bookers, agents, industry professionals, and comedy clubs.
 
The panel of judges consists of individuals who are responsible for booking stand up talent for some of the nation’s most coveted TV shows; including The Tonight Show, The Late Show, and various programs on Comedy Central, TBS, and FOX. Over the past 6 years, the Laughing Skull Comedy Festival has become one of the nation’s most prominent platforms for discovering unsigned comedic talent.
