The Humboldt Trio has been a band since early 2008 with two founding members, Jerad Hill and Clayton Curtis. After a few lineup changes with the bass, they found Michael Ramseyer towards the end of that year.
Jerad and Clayton have been in such bands together for a few years now as Shoot the Messenger, Moving to Canada, and Panda Attack and have played with Unpersons, Blame Game, Big Penguin, Anne August, Me and Him Call It Us and others.. These projects were mostly grind and hardcore.
From the grind core past, Jerad and Clayton decided to keep the aggressive and eerie side of the genre, and combine it with other influential themes such as Psych and Jazz Fusion, giving The Humboldt Trio a unique and distinctive sound.
From Jerad Hill on the song ‘Me, God and Jesus are Going to the Movies’ – ‘Okay. No. It’s not about anything really. Much like the subject matter of the song, our titles are completely irrelevant to the notes we somehow manage to arrange in such an order that, it is pleasing to our ears. Hopefully, it’s pleasing to your ears too.’
We certainly found it pleasing! Check in with the Humboldt Trio HERE on myspace or HERE on Hijacking Music’s site.
