B: What inspired you to start making music?
Art is something thats in you period from the get go and its going to get out of you in some vessel one way or another. Music has always been a part of our lives in some shape or fashion since we were kids.
B: Where do you get your roots?
The Northside of Jacksonville,FL and our families. We are both family oriented and that helped keep us from making a lot of mistakes.
B: Who is Meanz if Operation?
Meanz of Operation is anybody who is determined to achieve extraordinary feats no matter the obstacle presented. If you have goals and ambitions you have a Meanz of Operation – there for you have us.
B: How do you want to touch the people?
We want people to listen to our music when they are at their highest and lowest. We want to inspire and encourage, and have Fun while doing so.
B: Where did you get your inspiration for your most recent project and what’s the title?
The most recent song is “Thursday Morning News” and we got the inspiration going through beats and hearing the track. From there we talked about how it made us feel. We felt like the music sounded like it was from a scene of a Spike Lee joint. The line “Wake Up” we know comes from the classic school days and we took that line and spun it into experiences we both have gone through.
B: What is the name of Meanz of Operation’s first album?
The very First album which is rare to find but we still have a few copies was “Habitual Offenders” … recorded in Aces’ room, no mixing or mastering. All raw material of two young hungry passionate dudes. It was fun to make and it turned out dope and still dope too this day quality may be a little shitty yet and still content production and lyrics still there.
B: Where do you see hip hop going?
I don’t see it going but I see it growing. Hip Hop will continue to take over everything and influence every culture. It is a black hole of euphoria that sucks in everybody and genre whether they admit it or not. Hip Hop is involved in everything today in someway.
B: What studio in Atlanta would be your dream recording space?
Is there a studio that has a pool of money like uncle scrooge from ducktales vault with clones of Mya and Ciara walking round half nude serving lobster tails and vodka between takes? No? Ok, well long as we got a food, a mic and a good insulation we gravy.
B: When is Meanz of Operation dropping their next project?
We are going to be dropping Projects (plural) very very soon! We start working and you can keep up with all our moves at MeanzMusic.com and on our free MeanzMusic app on your iphone and android app store. Be sure to download our free music app.
