Recently I got to see three great Atlanta bands play at an awesome venue in Inman Park, aptly named KrogJam. Ladislaus, Free Ticket and Invisible graced the stage with their presence and brought the crowd up to a new level with dancing and singing along, as if we were all at a party on ecstacy or something. Ladislaus went on first, playing some cover tunes as exhibited below.
Ladislaus is definitely an up and coming band in Atlanta, fronted by Lazlo Wizniewski and backed by an awesome band. The band is Laszlo – Rhythm Guitar/Vox, Eric – Keys, Jason – Lead Guitar, Cole – Bass, Phil – Sax, Joe – Percussion and George – Accordian. As you can see in the videos, the band has a great dynamic and can play a great live show. Very lively, catchy and uptempo songs, influenced at times by Lazlo’s Hungarian heritage. Keep an eye on them on myspace at http://www.myspace.com/ladislaus and facebook here.
Next to go on is a personal favorite of mine, Free Ticket, colors flying. Danny from the band let me borrow his 3d eyeglasses to use on the cameras, giving the effect you see on the videos. Free Ticket is a fresh band and a great group of guys to play Risk with. The group is composed of Daniel Bailey on Guitar, Daniel Betts on Drums, Gage Gilmore on Bass, and David Gray on Bass. The group is a young, but spirited group that beings a lot of life to the party. Check them out here at myspace: http://www.myspace.com/freeticket44.
Third and last to go on was a new band to me, called Invisible Circus, a five piece jam rock group formed of Bob Perez (Saxophone), Cole Grant (Electric Bass), Jake Thomson (Drums/Keyboards), Liam Ammerman (Vocals) and Jared Pepper (Drums/Keyboards/Guitar). They put on a great set to vibe out to, and the band hit some interesting musical planes during the night that I was truly amazed by. Definitely check out this group at http://www.myspace.com/itstheinvisiblecircus
Also, a special thanks to KrogJam for putting on the show. Please support this venue, they have a great atmosphere, art gallery and stage setup for shows. They built it all themselves and it is a largely DIY venue run by some great guys. It is right across the street from the infamous Krog Tunnel with all the graffiti on Decatur Street/Dekalb Avenue.
Their myspace is http://www.myspace.com/krogjam. That’s all for now, but stay tuned in for more updates on the local scene and be sure to support your local bands and check out some of the bands featured here to broaden your musical scene.
