I was recently passed Sinkane’s latest album as well as a press release outlining the rave reviews its been receiving from The New York Times to Stereogum. I have to admit, its not something I’d seek out but Sinkane is straight up good music. Sinkane is “Ahmed Gallab, who was born in London and moved to America as a kid.” His family were Sudanese exiles and his music has a definite African flavor but with the mix of someone who grew up in England and the US. Sinkane’s ‘Life & Livin’ It’ LP (City Slang) Atlanta release show is at The Earl on April 25th.
