We recently had another Sunday acoustic show (part of a never ending series) at the Beatlanta House…featuring Sara Crawford, Michael Jefts and Chris McDonald. It was a night of intimate performances and good conversation. We got some pics and some videos for all of those who didn’t have a chance to make it out. We will announce our next Acoustic show soon so be looking out for that. Also, we have a house show this Friday with Before the Solstice and Capibara. Its a free, byob show and we hope to see you there. Videos and pics….
Michael Jefts – this was only his 2nd or 3rd show but awesome none the less. I’ve know Jefts for sometime now and he’s always been a super cool dude. Ask anyone around and they’ll tell you he’s a genius, music and otherwise. His solo stuff is really folky I think in the truest since of the word “folk.” Its chill as hell and kind of reminds you of something out of an old country folk movie but with a sophisticated, modern twist. Its introspective, revealing and intimate stuff and fucking props out to Jefts for putting this stuff together and getting it out there…cause we can dig it. We’ll have Jefts back in the future so be sure to come out and see him…
Chris (C Mac) McDonald – Chris’ stuff is unabashed and in your face. He has a sort of freestylish approach to his songwriting and delivery. He likes to have a lot of fun performing and interacting with the audience and his stuff is raw, current and classy. You can catch Chris performing at open mics around the ATL and again in the future at the Beatlanta House. His guitar playing finds him booking shows in L.A. and getting offers to play guitar for national touring artists, so make sure you make it out to a show and support his solo efforts…
Sara Crawford – seeing Sara play at our house was a real treat (yeah I said treat). Sara is a refined, well defined and masterful acoustic artist. I’m sure you have heard and seen her name before as she’s been playing in and around Atlanta for almost a decade now. Take a listen to her stuff and you’ll find yourself comparing her to all of your favorite female singer/songwriter types. She has a show on Friday, September 3rd – Sara Crawford and the Cult Following – she’s playing with her band. She has another show at Mint Gallery on Friday, September 24th – not sure if its just her or her and the band but either way, you should strongly consider it. She graced us with the guitar and some keys so check it…
We have another show this Friday with Capibara and Before the Solstice – See you there.
