by Adam Keen… thanks to Shaky Knees and Alive Coverage for hooking up the photo ops.
Both of these acts rocked the festival. Be sure to check out all of our coverage on our home page.
Frank Turner
Frank Turner was definitely a highlight of the festival and had one of the more energetic shows of the weekend. It really shows when the band looks like their up on stage just having a ton of fucking fun and interacting with the crowd and thats what we got from Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls. I went into the weekend having never heard of Frank Turner and some of the folks in my festival group had him on their top list so I took their word for it, and wasn’t let down. He played some glorious tracks like: “Recover”, “The Road”, “Wessex Boys”, and “If Ever I Stray.” If you haven’t heard of Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls or seen them live then its highly recommended. Here is a video we caught from the crowd (pics below):

Dr. Dog
I’ve seen Dr. Dog at Bonnaroo and at the first Shaky Knees in 2013 and have always been a fan of their live shows. I feel their music is universal and speaks to a variety of music lovers of all genres and types. Its mostly chill but can rock the hell out, poignant and timeless. Dr. Dog is an amazing festival band. We sat a bit far back on a hill in the shade with an absolutely perfect view (we actually watched many acts on the Peachtree stage from the spot). Go catch Dr. Dog and save the date for next year’s Shaky Knees – May 13th-15th, 2016.
Here is a video from them at Shaky Knees 2013 (the 1st Shaky Knees):
