From Clint Bussey on the song: ‘Worldwide Veneer, to put it simply, is a dirge about how pointless life seems to be. How deceptively sweet it starts out, just to flood you with pain, horror, and confusion. Using a love story I try to portray how pointless love is, if in the end the love of your life dies leaving you with only pain and regret, and bittersweet memories. As in many of my songs Time is portrayed as a merciless tyrant pillaging us until we die. My hope is that the listener hears my subtle “answer” to the dichotomy of life and how to escape the clutches of Time.’
