PRESS RELEASE: Brooklyn Basement Records artist, TRUETT,
announced the upcoming release of his sophomore EP,
Lies and Lightning, along with a US tour and an EP
release show in his hometown of Atlanta, GA.
The lead single off the five-song EP, “Run Me Down,”
was released on November 3, 2017 (premiered on
Xune Magazine) which was followed by “Fire,” on
February 2 (premiered on New Noise Magazine). The
third single off the project, “Coldwater, Michigan,”
was released on March 2 (premiered on Ghettoblaster
Magazine). Lies and Lightning is set to be released on
April 20 on Brooklyn Basement Records.
“The songs on this EP I have been workshopping and playing on tour for the last year, they surpassed my
expectations in the studio and evolved into tracks I couldn’t be more proud of.” – Truett
Truett kicked off a spring tour to support the new releases, with
shows covering the West Coast and Southern regions and will
continue touring across the South. He will be celebrating the
release of Lies and Lightning with an EP release show at Smith’sOlde Bar in Atlanta, GA on April 21.“A hard-riffing onslaught of fuzzed-out guitars and urgent vocals. …Truett treads a path that can trace a straight line from Muddy Waters to
Led Zepplin to The Black Keys, but he brings a fresh perspective to the
game.” – Paste Magazine“It’s a stylish, energetic anthem, laced with reverberating riffs, shuffling beats and awesome rasping vocals, each playing their part to
create a killer track. The song has a true toe-tapping, American rock
feel that’s right up our street, blending cool soul with blues rock.”
