So back in June I posted about a little craft brewery in Charleston, SC that I was set to visit over the 4th of July weekend (see original post below). I did it. Lauren (my wife) and I spent a long weekend up there and took a couple hours out of our Saturday to visit Coast Brewing Company. We enjoyed a flight of each beer on tap plus a couple extra pints of our favorite. The brewery is located in a warehouse in what seems a forgotten industrial port area of Charleston (not much around it except the port)…but its perfect for a brewery. There were about 20-25 people there for the tasting and the tour. The tour was basically the two brewers on site explaining a bit about the new setup they have as they were in the process of switching to larger equipment for more beer output. Just what we like to see – EXPANSION. They had four beers on tap to taste. I liked two of the beers I tried and the other two were ‘so so’. I did leave with a bottle of their “Dead Arm Pale Ale” and you can find a review of that HERE. I wanted the Smoked Porter but they did not have any bottles for sale at the time so I went with my 2nd favorite – the Dead Arm.
Be on the lookout for Coast Brewing Company here in Atlanta. We’ll be sure to let you know when we see some. So we had the chance to taste the following beers…
I failed to get a pic of the full flights, which were awesome, representing the color scale from light to dark…
