THIS SATURDAY: Atlanta Strong Beer Festival (8% ABV & higher) – featuring many local breweries…

This is the 1st time the festival is being held and it sounds pretty awesome. Here are the details straight from http://www.georgiacraftbrewersguild.org/

The inaugural one-of-a-kind Georgia beer festival in which every beer being poured is more than 8% ABV. 

More than 20 breweries and brewpubs will participate; pouring more than 40 unique high-gravity beers that can’t be purchased anywhere else!

When: Saturday, December 7, 2013 from Noon to 4pm.

Where: Wrecking Bar Brewpub, 292 Moreland Ave NE, Atlanta GA 30307. Beers will be pouring at stations in the pub, upstairs event space, and biergarten.

Why: All proceeds, after expenses, for this festival will be given to the Georgia Craft Brewers Guild(GCBG). The GCBG is the primary organization drafting legislation and lobbying for revisions to the Georgia alcohol codes. Early on the 2014 GA House and Senate Legislation dockets will be HB314 and SR174, which if passed, would allow breweries and brewpubs to sell limited amounts of beer retail from their establishments for customers to take home.

Pre-registration for GCBG Enthusiast Members is an incredibly low $20! Enthusiast Members get a great-looking GCBG T-shirt and likely discounts and premier status at beer establishments and other festivals for 2014. Pre-registration for non-GCBG Enthusiast Members is $30.
