First Taste: earthy and flowery and bitter with a medium hop taste. Its smooth with a slight spicy aftertaste. Grape fruit and other citrus notes. For 104 IBUs its not as bitter as I would expect. Boulevard describes it as “the happiest thing we’ve ever brewed.” It doesn’t strike me as particularly hoppy; I think maybe because its unusually smooth. This beer does have a strong aroma though which adds to the overall experience. I read another review that said this beer is for IPA lovers but I’d have to disagree. It underwhelmed for me. The review did agree with that crazy smell though. Maybe I’m missing something on this one. Seems too smooth and creamy for me and I wish it had more spicy notes. Its good well rounded beer but just didn’t wow me like some other IPAs.
