This week we are posting an interview we did with Campaign about their music, their albums and how they are so rad.. So check it!
B: When did Campaign form, what is the history behind the band?
We’ve all played in different bands together at one time or another for the last 8 years or so. We tried to form Campaign in late 2008 but it didn’t really come together until our paths all crossed at a Dying Fetus show in 2009. We released our first EP in April of 2009, and played our first show that June.
B: What does the name Campaign mean?
A Campaign is defined as an operation or series of operations energetically pursued to accomplish a purpose. I think this name fits the band well.
B: What are the names of the records you’ve done?
We have an EP called H1N1, and another called It Likes to Party. They are both available for free, just as all music should be.
B: Any albums coming out?
We have a new 7” coming out in January called Blood Sweat and Beers. We are also doing a split 7” with our friends Have Fun Exploding.
B: Can you tell us anything about it?
The new record has 33% more denim.
B: What’s it like for you guys to write the music?
It is a good time because the whole process is very collaborative. I think all of the dudes in the band bring a lot to the table, and it makes writing songs more fun.
B: Where all have you been to play and do you have any places that you especially enjoyed playing in?
529 is my favorite place in the universe.
B: Why is music important to you?
I’ve been obsessed with music for as long as I can remember. When I’m not playing music, I am either listening to it or thinking about it. I’ve met all of my best friends through music, and it has played a large role in all of the bad decisions I’ve made throughout my life.
B: If you had one wish as the band Campaign collectively, what would it be?
An unlimited supply of Coors light and black t-shirts.
B: Anything you want to say to the fans?
up the punx.
