Lyrics:
Ladies and gentleman,
Please step back, remain calm
You told me once
If we were blind
We would be kind,
The same kind
You told me once
If we were blind
We were shaking blood hands
When we promised
We were brothers Amen
We were honest
Tell me tell me why
We do it
Oh my fear lay us both down
Hang my badge on the wound
You told me once
To watch the tide
And we’d be fine
Oh we’d be fine
You told me once
To watch the tide
Oh My Fever (repeat by gospel choir)
press release: “The song and video were inspired by the Michael Brown shooting in Ferguson, MO. A story the band hoped would fade but continues to haunt the nation with documented police violence and racial tensions that beg “tell me why we do it”. The song ends with the benediction of a soaring gospel choir, which was recorded in the band’s newly adopted town of Grand Rapids, MI and led by local music phenom Debra L. Perry. The music video is a surrealist cinematic endeavor touching on race, religion and sexuality and how we will all end up in the hands of our children. The band is in the middle of playing a residency in Grand Rapids, MI and will be doing a national tour starting in mid-July.”
“IN THE VALLEY BELOW will be performing in Atlanta, GA on 8/11 at The Earl, with FLAGSHIP. We’d like to arrange a preview with you, and invite you out to the show as our guest!
In The Valley Below (married couple Jeffrey Jacob and Angela Gail) recently debuted the video for the new single, “Bloodhands (Oh My Fever).” The band also had a hit a few years back with “Peaches.”
Side Note: In the Valley Below has a ‘beer blog’ on their website here. We highly commend that. It looks like they home brew their own recipes and highlight tasty beers and drinks they encounter on the tour travels. Cheers! – #beerAtlanta
