Comedy and stand up is a rising form of entertainment in Atlanta. And I can say, Ty Millz has brought a new wave to this artistic outlet! With 6+ years of performing comedy to hosting his own comedy shows, Ty Millz is definitely doing something right!
Ty Millz has traveled the US performing but is native a New Yorker, where he got his comedic influence. Ty has performed all over the East and West coasts from California to Florida. He has also performed at highly recognized venues such as Up Town Comedy Corner (http://www.uptowncomedy.net/) and the Laughing Skull Lounge (www.laughingskulllounge.com/?).
As Ty Millz continues to spread laughs all over, I have to stop to say that he has so much depth in the arts outside of comedy. Hip Hop Weekly magazine is a family owned business which Ty has greatly contributed to over the years with comedy and music like peanut butter and jelly. I wanted to dig a little deeper for our BeAtlanta.com fans!

THE INTERVIEW
B: What was the life changing event that made you say, “I want to do comedy!”?
I was working in a comedy club as a server and I knew I was funnier than the guy onstage who had been all over the world making people laugh.
B: Who is Ty Millz?
Ty Millz is a mentalist, observing life through a tainted microscope. With such a wild dynamic of parental life spectrum. Mom being college educated and dad being a class 4 narcotics dealer for over 20 years at the highest levels. He’s seen some things. Ty Millz has lived many lives and offers his unwanted opinion to the world.
B: How would you describe the type of comedy that you perform?
I’m a realist. I like to engage people. Have fun making fun of my life and life in general.
B: How long have you dedicated to the art of comedy?
It’s been 6 years since I first got onstage. Dedicated is such a serious word but to the art of comedy I can honestly say 5 years. One year life happened for real but in life you make decisions and you live with them. Just gotta make better ones in the future.
B: Tell me about some the events that you have put together.
I currently host Department Store (http://erosolatl.com/) on Edgewood the first and third Wednesday of the month. I’m working on a TV show with my own entity Artistic BrainDamage Entertainment called ATLamsterdam. It’s a live action comedy show. I have a few networks that are throwing some opportunities my way.
B: What’s next for Ty Millz for 2016? Is Cartoon Network still in the works?
Cartoon Network and Adult Swim is my like dream situation I would say. But with so many different media outlets and streaming services available, I’m leaving my options open as I move forward. It has to feel right. I grew up on Cartoon Network cartoons and always wanted my own cartoon but who knows what the future holds. There are great people over there.
