by Sam Troncony…
I met Russell while taking the train on my way to work.. We always share about bands that come into town. Soon enough we also found out we are neighbors and share the same passion for gardening.
He had mentioned that this band “Flamingo Shadow ” was playing at 529 and he was going. I didn’t know much about Flamingo Shadow, but I did reach out to a friend who lived near by and he highly recommended me to get a ticket…
After a long day at work, I made it to 529 to catch the last few songs by Flamingo Shadow. It was organic! Something pure and new to me. The sound was different. It was super good. A mixture of true passion that almost lead me to an euphoric experience. The dancing was good and everyone had the feeling to groove on. It didn’t take much for me to start moving my body and letting go of all the stress… Too bad I could only enjoy their last two songs…
A few weeks passed and my energy for Flamingo Shadow slowed down.. on a early Saturday morning I went for a walk, and I saw an ad that Flamingo Shadow was performing a free show in East Atlanta Village…
I was able to get there on time and saw the whole show. The crowd was local and supportive of Flamingo Shadow.
Originally from Georgia, Flamingo Shadow is the result of a solid group of friends that share the same passion for music. Their latest album Earth Music is definitely worth checking out.
